  • Ngd st-3

After owning many ST-3's i wound up selling them all off. I couldn't resist this one, i think these earlier ST-3's are the shit. This ones got the ibanez edge trem, grovers, not big on red but the price was right. more pics once it arrives friday, i hope.

That looks like a nice one. The Edge trem versions are the best. I miss my Edge-d one. These tend to be beat to shit when you find them!

You are having them ship it to you?

Hope you got it for a good price. It's a very nice guitars. Good player, good tone (IMO).

If you really want some more USA's, there's a guy on Cinci craigs that always posts a blue snakeskin Gunslinger for $750. He has a couple of ST-III's too for less money. I think a purple burst and a green quilt maybe?

Nice score. I had a ST III in hot pink back in the day. Wish I would have kept that one. Have been looking for one recently. As stated, they're usually beat to hell if you can find one. Congrats! Cool axe!!

thanks guys, can't wait gets here tomorrow. Jeff, they are out there, but for some funny reason the 80's are coming back & those hot pink, dayglow yellow and all those oh so loud 80's colors are getting harder & harder to find since they are in collections.

Is the Edge trem identical to one from an Ibanez guitar? Or does it have BCR markings on it. Im assuming it has a 42 mm block. Ive currently got a charvel branded schaller on mine but Ive always wanted to get the edge that originally came on it.

Very nice guitar! Love the ST-3's, have a red one myself, although it's an NJ Series. That thing can take one hell of a beating. Took a chip of paint out of my cement wall one time when it fell, didn't damage the headstock at all.

I have an early 90's one. I sold it once, then missed it dearly so I bought a late 80's one which was alright. Ended up trading that for a Charvel. Eventually I was able to buy back my old 90's ST-3, never planning on selling it again. Almost perfect neck.

The original Edge I have has no markings minus the "Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents" on it.

yep, just the standard ibanez edge. early ST-3's do not take abuse, BCR changed the neck to headstock transistion at least twice to make them thicker. the earliest ones the thru bolts for the nut go thru the round of the neck for the most part. the last revision had the bolts entirely thru a much thicker flat transition, with a 2nd version that split the difference. Also import necks were splice so they were a little stronger
