  • Outdoor pics of my Carvin CT624

Had a small window today to take some outdoor pics of the CT 624 today. Not completely happy as the top on this guitar is very hard to photo. It is so intense and highly figured in person but the camera is just not picking it up due to the curves. If it was a flat top guitar Id have no issues. But anyhow, cant pass an opportunity to share more guitar porn with this one. Oh and a couple family shots that didnt come out well at all.

Notice the new Trem. I hate the quality of OFRs these days and a gotoh wouldnt fit.

To get better pictures outdoors, if you want to get them in direct light you are going to want to do it early in the morning (up to 2 hours after dawn) or late in the the afternoon. (2 hours before sunset). I've found for best results mid-day, it's good to shoot with the guitar close to direct sunlight, but in a shaded area. That way it's still well lit but you don't pick up as much finish glare.

How's the Graphtec bridge? I almost bought one for my Model 5 but ended up grabbing an OFR instead.

that graphtech is amazing. It has a little less high end brightness but this was a severely bright guitar to begin with so it was a welcome change. Fit and finish is amazing. And I love how stable the bar is. No play or knocking at all. And so far its holding up well. I love that thing.
