I didn't mean the price of Suhr guitars in general I meant these particular pieces. I have a modern on order and it was cheaper then expected. Actually it was cheaper then a Jackson PC1 . Gibsons are WAY over the top in price I agree there. Had 4 Gibsons and while good guitars not as good as Suhr or Jackson IMO.

I have played several suhr guitars and I can say that I really was not that impressed with them for the price. The model I looked that had a pick guard bolt on neck and a Gotoh Floyd and it was considerably more money then the Jackson USA soloist which was next through construction of figured Mapletop And German OFR. I don't get the fascination with them

Yet look at all the love for the blingy, totally overpriced, set neck GMP thread. I'd much rather have that paint drip Suhr than the American Flag V. lol

Ouch! You think that GMP's are overpriced? What exactly are you willing to pay for custom guitar?

For a set neck guitar? Not as much as they'll be charging for Rock Star Barbie's guitar.

Seriously though, my comparison was only for one custom crafted guitar that is adored by many here to another that most don't care for.

I wouldn't buy a GMP, a McNaught or a PRS and I probably wouldn't buy a Suhr either. Not my thing.

I don't know. I could probably buy two or three of my Barbie GMP's for the cost of one of the Mcnaughts,PRS, or that Suhr. I don't really think you have any idea what one of the custom GMP costs based on the company you're placing them in.

I have had two Suhrs and currently own an Anderson. Totally awesome guitars and worthy of the hype. The pricing is very competitive with any other custom builder. The quality of the tone woods and fretwork is off the charts.

I don't get the idea where you think GMP is all that cheap. Isn't that custom US Flag GMP like $5-6k+?

Really, a McNaught, PRS or Suhr is like $15k?

                        You're fucking way stoned dude.

See that's what I don't understand about people spouting off at the mouth with absolutely no idea what they are talking about. My GMP was less than half of what you think it was. Don't like it, that's fine. It's not for you. It's apparently for me my Dad and the Barbie girls. But before you bash the price get your facts straight!
and I'm the one that's stoned!

Th Pro Series (S and M (matron) models play and sound just as good as the flash models. Looks-wise they are underwhelming but the playability is amazing.

I played a Rasmus Guthrie model. That guitar was nice enough, but I can't imagine paying like $3500 for the American version of the same thing. Insanity.

I didn't think the GMPs were crazy priced. Now I have a relative idea of what the pricing is. And....it sounds like your Vees were probably less than or equal to the USA Jacksons - I am now seeing typical RRs with lightning graphics priced at almost $2700.00 new. Sounds to me like I need to contact GMP for a new roundhorn.

Also, I personally would not pay $5k for a bolt on strat style guitar. The companies all use the same woods. In my mind I can buy a beat strat on ebay, pay Mike Learn for custom paint and have Dan Erlewine do some neck work (or have the guitar Plek'd) and I don't see more than $1500 invested. Come to think of it I would probably order a GMW.
