Sully, my friend, I was totally joking. Even if a lawyer wanted to pursue it, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Sure, it's similar. But not the same.

If only Jackson would do something similar with roundhorns. LOL

It's decent looking...I've seen worse. I like the inlays a lot!

Like the fact Grover is making guitars again, but am not heralding this guitar in any way

don't know what randy would play if he was alive, but that one isn't that bad....I like the body shape, you know the first one designed that isn't as fat as the white concrode. although everyone in here loves the classic rhoads shape.and I do too.maybe if he hadn't died we wouldn't have had the rhoads body shapes the same way as we get them now, even if he was ok with the rr1 body(he might wanted to change something on them...who knows?)

I'm still miffed that they won't let you order a custom strathead still.

Anyone who thinks even Randy has any claim to this body design is smoking crack. Randy Rhoads would be the last fucking person on the planet to have any right to bitch about this guitar. Randy is still the guy who's most pictured playing a Flying V which btw wasn't purchased from nor built by Gibson who is the company who originated that design so. Really bring Randy or his family into an argument against this guitar is moot. All Randy was (besides a fucking genius on guitar and my hero) was the guy with a rough idea for a guitar. He didn't build the guitar and it wasn't his name on the headstock it was Grovers. As for the rest of the Rhoads clan they can all get fucked for all I care. I'm a fan of Randy that doesn't mean the rest of his linage deserved an ounce of my care or respect.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I have very conflicted feelings about this guitar. I love it, especially those inlays BUT.. that headstock just kills it.

I suspect that rule is in place to differentiate the Charvel brand from Jackson. I.e., Charvels are predominantly stratheads, and Jacksons are predominantly pointies.

Not saying I agree with the rule. IMHO, when it comes to custom shop orders, that restriction is just plain dumb. But, from a general brand distinction / marketing perspective, I can kind of see the argument.

I understand, but I already own a strathead Jackson. I just want another one similar to it because it's been my favorite guitar for like a decade....

They'll do a Star body... that's got round horns!

Oh, I totally get it. (See my roundhorn V comment above. LOL.) It's frustrating and disappointing.

And, Toe, I love Stars, too. But their "round horns" are in the wrong places. LOL

Grover making guitars is cool but it would be much cooler if they were very unique and original. But like the evolution of any product, it's more and more difficult to be original when it's all be done,or mostly been done…..
