For those who haven't seen Don Dokken's old star, here is a pic Dan worked from for the flame pattern. You can see the small refinements Dan made with the flames and the pinstriping. And I liked how the black pickup and ring blended in with the black base on the Charvel so I opted for the white pup and ring to follow the idea.

It is the standard GMW neck profile with 1 5/8" nut and jumbo frets. And I had Lee install a walnut skunk stripe for the old school look. It's purely decorative as GMW's new necks are 2 pieces and don't have a route in the back of the neck to install the truss rod. I also went with an oiled neck but a satin finish on the fingerboard.

The star arrived yesterday and it looks and feels amazing. It's got a urethane top coat to keep the pure white very bright over the years and Lee did a great job with the finish as it looks like glass. I've got a TB-5 pickup in it and it sounds awesome. Even unplugged it is very loud and has nice tone tone to it.

Now if the weather would cooperate, I could take some outside pics to share.
