Well I finally caved and bought a Gibson Les Paul. It is a 2012 Les Paul Standard Plus in Honeyburst. It is the only finish that comes with non Cherry colored back.
Beautiful!!! I have just recently picked up a Les Paul after a 12 year hiatus from them. How are the details on yours? I was surprised to find the quality much higher than I had remembered many years back. That is a really nice honeyburst. Usually they look almost dull or washed out to my eyes. Your guitar looks great though. Might be the combination of the color and the figure. Nice Les Paul.

I was real concerned about Gibsons quality control issues I kept hearing about but mine was good with no flaws or defects that I could find.
Nice looking LP you picked up there, Congrats! BTW, many of the newer models look a bit more dull because Gibson offers them in either gloss or VOS finish. The VOS (vintage original spec) is not buffed out like gloss and also has a worn look to the hardware. Gloss of course is shinny. A VOS guitar can be buffed out to gloss if so desired. I don't believe all lines have both choices but many Les Paul lines do.
