Great way to spend a couple of hours while the football game is on TV. Man, wetsanding is one of my least favorite parts.

That's funny man. I actually enjoy wetsanding. I find it very relaxing, and it's great doing it while watching TV. Then again, I probably don't do it anywhere near as much as you do.

It's been said many times, but fantastic job, Sully! When I get enough money, my first custom guitar has to be a Sully. I would love to have that trippy angel step maple on a your Supernova body with a reverse Raven headstock.

Thanks guys, here's one more that's almost ready to go. My take on a tele, but hopefully a bit more sleek. The light varies in the shots, but it's kind of a Daphne Blue. Was kinda fun to mix.

And a peek at something that's been in the works for a couple of years now, my take on the Les Paul style, but with a longer scale, better fret access, and contouring on the back. These are just mockups, as I'm still turning ideas around in my head (adding a carved top or not, bridge options, etc), but I figured I'd share. I hope to have the woodworking portion complete on the three protos by late spring.

Yeah, it's good to do when you've got something else you can do as well, but it takes time, for sure.

Thanks! Angel step is in the wild maple family and isn't always the easiest stuff to find. Truth be told, I think that purple one is one of those "one in a llifetime" kinda finds.

I was kind of figuring that... I've never seen figured maple like that. I'm sure the new owner will be very happy!

                    Great work sully!
I don't mind wet sanding, I just don't like it when other flaws appear as a result of the finishing process.

Thanks Cyg! I know that feeling; I had to redo the blue one when I had a small sand through the clear over the forearm contour. That's the only thing I don't like about urethane; it doesn't blend like lacquer does.
