  • Yamaha RGX 421 D

Did some repair work for a friend and he paid with a 96 or 2006 RGX 421D.
Pretty nice guitar and plays incredibly well.
Very well made IMO Feels like a Dinky to me.Nice D shape neck profile.
    Nice burst and matching headstock.
Not a shabby player at all.

I've got an RGZ321P that I use for drop C# and its a good guitar, not great, but good. I tossed the middle single and just covered the hole in the pickguard. The neck is just a shade big for me and the guitar sounds a little bit thin, no matter what pickups I put in it. So I tuned it down and put some overwound distortion type pickups in it and it works good enough. Pisser of the deal is that the guitar is rather comfy to hold though. Nice guitar stray!
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

oh man yamahas ,you know in greece when you want to start playing the guitar everyone in the music shops will offer you one of those cheap series black models.so I hate those instruments cause everyone is like "look I'm cool and I play the guitar too..hellyeah I'm pretty good" and they always end up throwing it away, or letting it rest in a corner of their room or attic.also they sell it on LIDL, if you don't know what this is, its a supermarket chain store generating from germany.my question is:does anyone else here own one?how do their expensive products play?does yamaha even sell expensive products ?my friend who started playing the guitar before almost a year, he bought that cheap black yamaha and 2 amps for something about 175 euros.he found it in an advesrtisment.it was ok for a cheap one and had thad D shaped neck.
hey did I get it right? GTWGITS means :get the whole guitar in the screen?

close enough! "Get The Whole Guitar In The Shot"

Yamaha do make some nice guitars. Check out some of the higher end Pacificas, like the Mike Stern sig model. The Blues Saraceno sig models are sought after. And back in the day, guys like Blues & Rik Emmett were using them live.

I have an Taiwanese neck thru RGX1203S that is a solid, nicely appointed, well playing guitar with cool interesting features. My only complaint with it is that I don't find the bridge very comfortable under my picking hand. Oh, and that you can't get parts for it

Cool. The old RGX and RGZ Yamahas were pretty nice.

I had a black RGZ321P, and it sounded fantastic! The pups had this midrange quality like a wah stuck in the middle. I never should have gotten rid of that guitar.

Nothing shabby at all on this guitar at all. The trem is a Takeguchi lo pro which are fine trems marked MIJ too.
The neck feels really nice and the playability is there.Jumbo frets and nice thick rosewood fret board.
Very much plays like an Ibanez RG 550 with a tad thicker neck profile.

Well, there's no wondering who made it with that motocross full size logo on the headstock!

Mine was black when I got it, now it's lime green with a lot of gold metal flake in the clear. I gave $125 for it and that was with a Yamaha case. It's been played live a lot, I can't say it's hurt me at all. Just not a Jackson.

I'm still of the opinion that there is no better bang-for-the-buck guitar out there than these yamahas were.
