You could always go for a Jim Root tele

I had trouble finding a model 7 so I decided to build a tele. After I bought all the bits, no less than two mint condition model 7's turned up on ebay!

Anyway, its nearly done, just waiting for the lacquer to cure before i chuck it all together
Neck - thin d, stainless steel jumbo, 12-16 radius, tusq nut
Body - single piece swamp ash with side binding
pups - Seymour Duncan quarter pounders
Gotoh bridge
EVH pots
Sperzel locking tuners
