Sitting here in my office (im)patiently awaiting the big white FedEx truck today. I'll let you guys try to guess what's coming. This is something I've had my eyes on for a couple years but never thought I would be able to own. This guitar is pure metal. If you tried to play anything else on it, it would probably just rebel and electrocute you. It's a USA Custom Shop guitar from a company that only made approx. 150 USA Custom Shop guitars over a little over 3 years. They are still going strong but now have no USA Custom Shop. This guitar was their NAMM 2010 showpiece. It's list price was $5998.

    Hint: It's bite is deadly.

Sounds awesome! It also sounds about the output of the Charvel CS too....150 guitars over 3 years? Yeah that is about their completion rate these days! Can't wait to see pics!

Hey, wait a minute. This is NOT the guitar I bought. This NOT the NAMM model. This is a later version with the later headstock. Hmmmmmm.

DBZ started the serial numbers at #100 so this is the 148th USA DBZ guitar and the last guitar made in 2010. The snakeskin top is actually maple, carved and airbrushed.

Very nice, very cool guitar but not the guitar I paid for. A bit upset with Eric at Gearhounds right now. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Hmmm. Looks nice, but I'd be pissed if I didn't get what I ordered. I guess call them to see if you can straighten it out. I bought my LTD 7-string from Gearhounds with no problems, but they didn't seem to want to respond to emails when it took a little longer to get here and I wanted tracking information.

Talked to Eric at Gearhounds, found out that this one was a NAMM 2011 guitar. There are only 2 of these in existence in this color. The first one had the perfectly symmetrical V headstock and was at NAMM 2010. This one was at NAMM 2011 and was one of the last USA DBZ's made. There was also a green one made and it's on eBay right now. I really wanted the original one with the symmetrical headstock but I guess I can live with this one. It really is cool and super rare.

Here are a couple more pics so you can see the intricate snakeskin carving. The snakeskin is carved out of the maple top. Because of the 3-D nature of these guitars, they had to make the maple top(on top of mahagany)just almost half the thickness of the entire guitar. That's one high dollar piece of maple on this thing. The pickups are gold EMG's.

The detail on that carved top is amazing.

                            Congrats.
