  • New GMP (soon)

While I've certainly enjoyed all the flashy flame & quilt maple tops Kurt has been posting, and while Ian's purple V absolutely rocks, I just don't go in for stuff that's quite that flashy. No, I tend towards more subtle things that don't clash so much with my delicate nature:

I'll always be grateful to Dan for telling me early on, "Umm, dude, don't you think that graphic over two tone bass boat flake would be ... a bit much? Maybe?" Why yes, yes it would have been. Best to keep these things simple, elegant and, much like my personality, very understated. So while I do enjoy seeing all that loud flashy maple you guys have been posting for me it'll always be something more sedate, like the one above.

I'll take the SG as a backup on that gig:

Seems like I've been selling 'em by the dozens. The place was starting to look a bit bare.

I kind of had an idea of what I might be getting into when I told Dan to put it on the back burner. I did nearly laugh out loud when I saw your pic of the whiteboard in the shop and this one was marked "LATE" in large red letters though.

Who does your paint work? It's very good.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Dan Lawrence of DRL Graphics did both of these. That would be the same Dan Lawrence who, along with his lovely wife Kim, operates GMP Guitars. In addition to Dan being a supremely talented artist and he & his wife's business producing some of the finest boutique electric guitars available anywhere, they're also two of the nicest people you'll ever encounter.

And now that I have mine I can say with some certainty that he really doesn't charge enough for this sort of thing.

Looks awesome!! Now where're the GTWGITS pics?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get
