  • My new PRS

This is actually one guitar brand that I never thought much of. Not in the sense that they're not good or anything like that, they just never tickled my fancy. Until now.... I started to check out some PRS's late last year and thought they played really well. Well, here is what I scored. I think there may be another one in the near future....

That's killer, Pete! Did you buy that from someone here? I seem to recall seeing that not long ago. Looks like it's got Graphtech saddles.

Very nice! I've always liked PRS. I like the color too because it's not what you see everyday.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Yup Joe. The seller is on the forum and lives in NJ. We just met at my office. I love the color and it's almost as heavy as a Les Paul, which was kind of surprising.

Cool. You never know what weight you're gonna get with mahogany.

Interesting vol/tone config. Can you explain what they do? I don't see a selector switch is why I ask and I know nothing about PRS....except bring some $$ when you buy one.

The bottom knob is a five-way rotary switch for pickup selection.

Love the purple but hate those 5 way rotary knobs for the pickup selector!

I may do the 3-way with coil tap mod. Not too sure yet, but it would make the guitar more versatile.

Hey Pete, if you are a fan of PRS you owe it to yourself to check out a Terry C McinTurff. I have a Glory Standard. Its easily as good if not better than a few $5000+ PRS Dragons that I have owned. Nice purple 22 by the way.

I don't get the hate for old school mop dots. While some people equate them with dated, I think they look more 'timeless'. They are simple, visible, and easy to implement to tight tolerances.

Don't get me wrong. I love my sharkies and birds and blocks and trapezoids and no markers too, but I'm unashamed to love me some dots.
