Interesting observation. I've noticed the same thing, but haven't checked with dial calipers to see if reality matches my perception. But it does seem like ESP Extra Jumbo frets are smaller than other Extra Jumbos. To further complicate the matter, LTD Extra Jumbos seem even smaller than the ones on ESP Japan guitars. I do need to measure, but some of the difference could simply be due to more being taken on during the leveling process.

OT, but what does Jackson use on Soloists? I'm guessing my SL1T has Dunlops 6000s because the frets are huge.

Jackson jumbos do seem huge! Maybe ESP does take them down more in the leveling process. Someone on 7string.org did also mention that he noticed ESP's frets are smaller compared to other manufacturers.

I'm confused about "Jumbo frets". It seams the "Jumbo" more refers to the fret width. It's the fret height that is different. The Jackson COW and the ESP M-1 frets look to be the same witdh, but the Jackson frets are much higher. Is there a name for the fret height spec? I guess this is just something that varies from manufacture to manufacture.

ESP frets always seem narrower than other "jumbo" frets, while being close to the same height as Jacksons etc. And I'm talking here about ESPs, not LTDs.

Nice M-1 NTB, by the way. I considered getting one myself for awhile, but just didn't have a use for it.
