Anyone checked out the EVH Striped series in person?

I'm thinking about pre-ordering one of the new EVH Striped series guitars and was wondering if anyone has checked one out in person? Just curious how the overall build quality and bridge are? The odds of me being able to check one out in person after they're released are probably zero because we have tiny guitar stores in the area. Every guitar I have is pretty high end ($1300-$3300) so I am trying to avoid being disappointed. If the bridge is crap, I don't have a problem changing it but at that point I may just prefer to build one from quality parts. I've loved the black and yellow EVH since I first saw the VH II album cover in '82 but the Art series were not for me - I don't like have to loosen/remove the neck to adjust the truss rod.

Post a mini review if you don't mind if you wind up picking it up or checking it out. I am having exact same questions in my had as you seem to about it. Would be so cool to get but hope it plays nice. Would want to get it to play it not to hang it on the wall.

I want a bumblebee one. Always loved that and the black and white one. I'll be getting both. Sorry but the red striped one always made me gag.

I think it's a great (and way overdue) concept. Plus the $899 price point puts it more in line with what it truly is: a single pup superstrat with a maple neck and a locking trem.

I, too, would avoid the r/w/b combo for fanboy backlash reasons alone. I can imagine every gig with this thing being a "Play Eruption man!" deal. But the white/black really speaks to me.

I heard it has a Wolfgang neck profile, which I happen to like a lot. So it should feel and play very nice.

The black/yellow was always my favorite one of his early guitars. I couldn't dig on those wonky asymmetric Kramer bodies. They were comfy to play, they just look off to me. It's the main reason I traded my focus in on my Charvel in 87. The Kramer was a fine guitar, but when you're young it's about the look hehe.

When i get the money and they´re available, i´m gonna buy one. Black/Yellow is my favored too.
