This was completed slowly during lunch hours or before and after shifts and on weekends.
Mahogany body, set maple neck, bound ebony fret board, 27 jumbo frets, reversed head stock, SD Custom/59 pups, Schaller Floyd, routed under, 1 Vol., 1 toggle. All sorts of badass.

Some note worthy items: sources say that Hamer would not do checkered anything for anyone other than Rick Nielson. The red logo is arguably a first (and possibly last) from the company as well.

That came out perfect. I can't see a single thing they got wrong.

I also really liked the way they did explorers with the nice flamed tops.

I have been all over that ax and a few minor issues have come to light: the checks are a little ragged in some places, especially around the edges going to the side of the body. No one would notice from 3 feet away let alone 20 feet away. The Hamer logo seems a bit cramped on the edge of the head stock as well. Again, unless you're changing strings on it, You wouldn't likely know any better.

At least it tells you it's hand-done and not a screenprint. And that's ok. I'd take a hand-painted one over a screenprint that's perfect every time

And that Hamer logo looks no worst than the giant Jackson logo on a strathead where it looks like there isn't any room for it

Oh better than hand built! Hand built by 4 highly skilled craftsman, each one handling a specific portion of the build- one did the woodwork, one the frets and board, one the paint, and one the electronics. Pretty fookin' amazing if you ask me.
