  • Not a Jackson Rhoads

This is a kit from GFS that I finally got around to painting. Basswood body, maple neck, really light fretboard that will be stained ebony, binding around the neck.

That looks sharp! Can't wait to see it finished.

Looks good. How much finishing work was required before painting?
Were the routes and body cuts clean?

I was thinking about grabbing one of those kits. How are they quality wise. Does the neck seem stable? They sell for real cheap
        It's pronounced soops

Their Dinky bodies are poorly cut. There was another thread discussing the kits.
The routes are garbage. This is why I asked how much work it took to get it ready for paint.

The routes and cuts were surprisingly clean. Some grain filler and it was ready for paint. This is an older kit, maybe 2 years since I bought it. The strat body that I bought is another story. The routes and cuts on it were pretty bad.

The body looks really small/narrow on it compared to an actual RR.

I think it might look like a toy guitar on you when it's done.

I was thinking the same thing. Seems awful small compared the RR's I've had experience with.

Actually I put my RR1T down today at practice in a similar position and walked a few steps back and it looks closer than I initially thought. I guess my brain still sees the Concorde body when I picture a Rhoads.
