Ever wish you could get in the Heavy Metal Wayback machine and travel back to the hey day of metal? Well now you can - almost... B.C. Rich is proud to introduce the new Gunslinger Retro model with a Maple Neck and a Floyd Rose® Tremolo. Styled after some of the most popular B.C. Rich guitars from the mid to late 80s!
Just had a quick go on it, needs new strings, set up isn't all that bad out of the box. Frets feel ok, no sharp bits. The pickup doesnt seem all that bad, might change it. need a few more hours with it. Neck feels different, not bad - dont know how to describe it, feels wide but flat.
You didn't mess around did you? Congrats. Black guitars always look great with maple boards.
I'm stoked with the Super Distortion I put in mine if that helps.
Now that Ive had a chance to play it back to back with my other guitars, the neck doesn't seem so chunky now. It's still pretty nice to play.
I started a BC Rich Owners thread on 7string, if you're on there, jump in.
I changed the strings, adjusted the trem a bit and have been playing for the last 3 hours, couldn't put it down, really surprised by it. I definitely think the pickup needs changing, it doesn't sound bad, just not what I'm after, its a bit honky. New pot and pickup order tomorrow i think. I was either going to go with a super distortion or a nailbomb
The Korean ones are much better than the Chinese ones.
I just did an up grade on one and the customer loved it.
CTS/RS 560k volume pot small treble bleed A frame cap set up and the Rockfield pick up sounds very good now.
Roll the volume back and it takes a bit of the high end away and leaves nice thick sound.
Good score on the BCR.
