NJ doesn't stand for new jersey. Those were made in Japan the first year and Korea after that.

only the ones with kahlers were MIJ the others I believe were made by Cort in Korea.

No the NJs were made in Japan through the 80's.

These are the ones with full binding... World Guitar binding, for the most part, is better than Jackson USA binding. These are high quality guitars with great components. I don't know what trem comes on these, but I got EMG 707 (not the crappy EMG 81-7) and a real OFR 7 on my Korean Stealth. These are every bit as good, if not noticeably better than early MIJ Charvels. I already have my stealth, so I'll pass on this deal, but that price is ridiculous. This guitar usually sells for $900+.

As hideous as those guitars are, they're certainly worth the money for the parts alone. If I had spare cash right now, I'd order a couple just to part out. I'd keep the hardware, and sell the carcasses for $250 each.
