The inlay references are so obscure (to me) it wouldn't really matter, nor stop me on the Bich.
The other one is a little too morbid for my tastes though.
But I'm pissing in the wind because I'm not buying guitars right now.

It's still a principle thing: I can't bring myself to gig out (and what's the point of owning an ax if you can't gig it?) someone else's ax. I've flipped several guitars despite the fact that they looked, played and sounded great, just because they were sig models. Bought 'em because of GAS, flipped 'em out of principle.

This is a strange mindset IMO

Probably. But put it this way: As a gigging guitarist, if you could own/play an ax that is to your unique specs and is every bit as playable and killer sounding as a someone's sig model, if not more so, which would you choose?
Fact is, I have had several custom orders made (as well as a bunch of mods and refins) that are of my design and play, sound and IMO look vastly better than anyone's sig model. So why promote someone else's band/guitar?

I'd be more inclined to go for the Terrence Hobbs signature or the 2012 NJ Warlock.

Yeah ! That's the one I really wanted. It's the exact same guitar as the Joey Jordison model but with a nice flame top. If they ever clearance sale out those things, the Jordison will get sold. As is, the Jordison for 1/3rd the price works for me(and leaves money for the Bich).

Only superficially familiar with either band and the signature identifiers (and the bands) are obscure enough that they don't really give much away. The inlays & graphics on either wouldn't put me off. I'm not a BC Rich fan but both of those guitars are pretty badass & I'd own both. My only concern would be that some 18 year old would recognise the guitar at a gig and come up to talk about the artist. Would be a short & disappointing conversation because I know nothing about them

If you are famous using someone else's signature guitar and you're not a fan I can see feeling weird. otherwise no one's thinking if you play a signature guitar you looking to suck that players cock. just saying.

I remember Abbath from Immortal played the DV-8s from ESP, I never thought of Mustaine when I saw him play it.

I love these ill-conceived artist signature guitar blow-out deals. I passed on this one, but I did score me one of those JJ French "Twisted Sister" Epiphone Les Pauls when they were being blown out a few years ago. What were they thinking?? The pinkburst and band logo made me sick to my stomach, but the price was right.

Apparently Musicians Friend had a whole bunch of the Jordison Warlock, they told me "over 100" on the phone. At the same time, they had less than 20 of the Jinxx Bich. When I bought mine they told me that I took the stock down to 9 on the Bich. That tells me that the Jordison Warlock did not sell at all and MF bought out the remaining large stock on the cheap. I imagine eBay will be flooded with those guitars next week.

I simply judge a guitar for what it is and don't get too worried about artist affiliation. For example, I hope to get a Gibson Bill Kelliher Explorer in the future. I couldn't care less about the affiliation with Bill Kelliher....it's just a really cool guitar that has some features not available on other models (like the goldburst finish).

But some signature guitars are just stupid. Like the guy in Slipknot who has "HATE" inlaid on his fretboards. It is the stupidity of those guitars that would prevent me from buying one, not the artist affiliation.

Really if you're worried about playing someone's signature guitar you've pretty much better learn how to carve wood because really any guitar you pick up is someones signature guitar or is associated with someone. Strats? Hendrix, Clapton, Gilmore, etc.. Les Pauls (Well besides fucking Les Paul) That Jimmy guy from that little band lead balloon or something, Slash, Etc Etc. This would also prevent you from ever playing a Jackson Rhoads, a Jackson King V, a Kelly, a Warrior, etc etc... I mean if you're only concern is buying a guitar that's specific to your needs then it's a valid argument but if you're argument is based on artist association then you've pretty much lost that one by owning any guitar at all. Hell I plaid a guitar with a reversed headstock back 91/92ish and I was accused of being a wanna be Hendrix because of the headstock despite the guitar being an Explorer knock off. so...
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Not worried at all. There are plenty of guitars out there that aren't slathered in some band or artist's graphics. I'm referring to guitars/ equipment having the artists's name and/or the band's logo or graphic on it. You're making a much more broad (and ridiculous) interpretation. Sure, Strat's were played by Jimi etc. but a sig guitar is a LOT more specific. It's the overt promo of another band or artist I can do without. I can be a fan of an artist or band without parading around their sig gear. YMMV
