I remember falling in love with the plaid Rudy Sarzo one in a guitar store, not having the cash for it, going back a week later with the cash, and it was long gone never to be seen again

That would be Blues Saraceno... Awesome guitars, really rare.
Which 1221 did you get? Was it the pink one on eBay?
No, this one is dark blue metallic with a rosewood board. It has a little fretware and a few dings from age, but overall it was a steal for $180 with a case and the tremolo bushing and arm intact. The replacement parts for the trems are expensive, since they're so hard to come by. I have two prototype necks for these I bought off Ebay a few years back that are unused. I was gonna install one on this guitar, but the fretware is less than I thought, so I might just keep the original. IMO, these 1212 and 1221's are only a small degree below a Ibanez Jem overall once they're setup, and we both know you can't get a Jem for less than $200!
Currently at 78 guitars - Paul Reed Smith, Jackson, Robin, Washburn, Carvin, Peavey, U.S. Masters, G&L, Hamer, Godin, BC Rich, Yamaha, Fender, ESP, Kramer, Cort, Ibanez, Aria Pro & Charvel

Warmoth had a couple of those necks online about 10 years ago. I wanted to buy them, but it's not like you can put them on just any guitar...
The trems on mine are in good shape so far, but I dread the day they go to hell on me... I'll probably try to use something else once they shit the bed.
