Well excuse my spelling. One thing that backs up my side is that J/C has been around at least 30 years less than Gibson/Epiphone. Another is the fact that as much as they're loved here J/C is past their prime and not selling anywhere near the numbers they did back then. Factor in that G/E has more dealers carrying their product and it's not hard to figure out. G/E simply sells more. Take off the blinders.

Those aren't even close to Jackson bodies so no biggie.

Ever see a LP copy? Its not even shaped like a LP sort of like the epi is not a RR body...it "looks" like it but its pretty off.

I have no problem with companies protecting their brand by TM headstocks and body designs, want to steal a design? license it, pay for it has have at it, otherwise you're just stealing to save lack of creativity

I know this. I sell about 20 Gibsons for every Jackson. I was fucking with you.

Very much so. I'll share a little story with you. One day I was on my lunch break, and ventured over to the greasepit McDonalds for a McStroke, and there were two salesman from Carmax in there. They were talking about a really nice Jaguar that recently came and gone. I asked them what kind of Jag it was, but neither of them knew. Being the asshole that I am, I said something along the lines of, "How the hell do you sell cars if you don't know what they are?". What really soured my nuts was what the one guy said next, "Well you know how it is, the customer usually knows more about the product than you.", to which I replied, "Absolutely not."

Mankind got another stupid notch on my tally that day.

you cannot be serious either that or seriously misinformed. If you can't tell and LP knock off from China for from a USA Gibson or Custom Shop Gibson you probably see a resemblance between a Ferrari and a Toyota Prius . I always crack up at these types of comments....never owned a Gibson that didnt suck...why did you buy it then?

Look Gibson has some QC and consistency issues, everyone knows this but don't be naive thinking no other guitar company doesn't have the same issues

hamer and dean made many gibson shapes with no problem, and those were much closer to a gibson build than jackson or BCRich ever did. my 2 grails are a round horn jackson V and a BCR explorer. sadly both are rare and $$, but i want em.

There are only two types of Jaguar - 1. Reeeeeally fucking sexy ones. 2. Piles of steaming shit - X-types, diesels and estate models. And anyone who puts a tow bar or roof rack on a Jag should be dragged outside, bummed, then shot.

And that, my friends, is in category No 1.
When my Mojo returns and I start coining in the loot again, I WILL be having one of those beauties.

Actually, if Jackson want to get out of this "gentleman's agreement" they have with Gibson about body shapes, for a modest fee, I'm happy to put my name forward. They can start making all sorts of shapes and route all calls from Gibson to my phone, all mail to my office. I'll soon show them that the last thing I am is a gentleman, and they can lick my chicken-skin dustmask. Game on!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                          I nearly broke her back

You bet yer ass there's a reason: they've been around for-evah. It's not so much that they ARE doing something right, it's that, at one point, they DID something right. Back in the 1950's, they were putting out some decent quality instruments, before they started churning out mass-produced crap-ola. They also had the benefit, as did Fender, of coming up with some of the most iconic and quintessential designs. The LP, the V, the Explorer, the Firebird, and the SG. When you establish a name and branding with precedent- setting designs and solid quality in the early stages of a race, you get a lock on the competition. Gibson's been riding that wave for as long,( if not too long) as they could. I own a couple of Gibbys but I guarantee you, it's not because of their untarnished rep as a consistently high quality manufacturer. The Gibby custom shop LP I own wouldn't amount to a skid mark in the underwear of my custom Hamer.... if guitars wore underwear... and took shits... and, oh never fucking mind.

I would think Gibson has sold more instruments than anyone else because it was founded in 1902. Jackson started in 1978. I don't think anyone could win a race if they gave someone a 76 year head start. Blind devotion and brand loyalty have something to do with this. Gibson has a 44 year head start on Fender as well.

This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Gotta kinda separate the builders and artists here from the corporate bean counters. The wood and paint guys just want to make a nice shovel, the lawyers and stock holders are the evil bitch holes behind the lawsuits. Don't hate the company based on what the lawyers do. Gibson hasn't been "Gibson" for years and years anyway, just as Charvel or Jackson for that matter aren't the companies they used to be, they are owned by people who care about sales and little about music.
