  • Halo Guitars ???

Anyone have any knowledge on these ?

Their website attempts to make them look like "Custom" guitars but I'm sure they are Asian. Some of them look kind of cool. Anyone know where they are actually made ?

21621 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014, USA, is there address. I've seen them on Facebook on Guitar Porn's page. They look good, never have had my hands on one. At the price point they have, I like seeing alder for the body wood. Like you I'm betting they are imports.

No first hand experience, but I've seen them discussed.

Going back a few years, they were supposedly a disaster. Turd guitars along with crappy service. Finally, they hung the "Under New Management" sign I've heard things are better. I've seen some goofy design decisions on recent guitars like an output jack that would stab you in the thigh when sitting down. But, I believe they have a new risk-free return policy that pays shipping both ways, so it could be worth a look.

I wanted to stop by their "shop" to possibly order a custom. I kept trying to call them over and over, nobody was ever there to answer. So I decided to avoid them, like most reviewers state.

The only reason I considered them is because they're local, even though a lot of their stuff isn't made here. I dunno.

I've played them, and they're run-of-the-mill, low end imports.

If this is the same company I think it is I used to talk to a guy who did work for them (Back when Myspace was big) . Basically they took the extremely low end LTD's and stripped the paint, did some carving on the guitar and repaint it with their logo and sold them as their guitars... it was all complete low end shit. run of the mill turd polishing.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Yeah, the company has gone under some changes with management/staff as MetalDaze said, the guy running their show posted several times on mg.org and seemed like he and the company were trying to shake off the bad rep they earned but regardless, it seems these are basically the equivalent of dollar store guitars MIC that look somewhat nice but in reality are made of cheap parts in Chinese sweatshops.

Just checked their site. Not crazy about the headstock.
8 strings? Because 6 is too easy?

Has anyone here ordered a Halo Custom Shop guitar yet?

I bought an early iteration of this one (has Halo pickups not the bare knuckle):

The Halo MERUS EverTune Guitar is designed for those who must stay in tune at all times. Guitars equipped with EverTune bridges are ideal for professional guitar players, but are great for enthusiasts, too. About EverTune: Keep Your Guitar in Tune Forever

They are definitely imports. At $1000 for this, its a little better than a $1000 import from ibanez, schecter, esp ltd. A little better quality/fit/finish than those at this price range. They do seem to worry more about set-up and playability, it needed less tweaking than my recent purchases from the brands listed above at this price range.

I'm really tempted to order a Custom Shop guitar:

If they truly are imports, unless you're just googoo-gaga over the designs, you'd be better off going with the manufacturer that started it all: CARVIN!
