  • 80's Dean "Baby Z" Hollywood series(Shrimp Fork head)

There is one for sale locally for 249.00. I am going to try and talk the fellow down a bit but does anyone have any experience with one of these weird little guys???

The lock nut is missing but I figured i can find another or replacement. The bridge is one of those Korean made rip offs of a Khaler. I think it is called the Accutune???

Made in Japan in 1984-85 by ESP. Yes, the trem is an Accutune which is kind of Kahler-like. They are OK guitars, not great, not crap. $150 would be a good deal. I wouldn't pay over $200 for it.

There's some on the net, in diff places but it didn't take much searching, for $100-$150. I find it a very comfortable shape whether sitting or standing. Perhaps an upgrade to the "Kahler" at some point depending on how you get along with what it has. I wouldn't go a buck over $175, but that's just me. It being local you're in a better spot to judge its condition.

The Accutune bridges aren't very strong but if its in good shape $175 is about right if you get the original case.
Kahler springs will work on these if you need springs call Kahler.
If the front support is bent or cracked on the bridge its a goner.

Cracks by the front screw holes are what to look for.
A lot of people would cross the springs over each other and that will put too much tension on the front cause the base to flex and crack.
Look at the front spring section and you will see how far this one bent.

I had a pearl white one years ago with the shrimp fork headstock and I liked the guitar.

Had one a few years back, too. Black / red bengal....liked it but not enough to keep it for long . Thinking back, I guess my overall impression was that it was "OK" - pickups / neck / hardware / electrics....all "OK". Which is why it's a solid under $200 piece. Plus the body was a little small to look really cool IMO.
