  • Michael Angelo Batio Guitars

Hi, all! I was thinking of the good old days when I thought Michael Angelo Batio was a guitar god, and remembered 2 guitars of his that really stuck out to me. After hours of searching, I came up empty handed for any information, or even pictures of said guitars, (well good pictures at least). If anyone here has anymore information or pictures of these guitars, please let me know!

The first guitar is one of his W.R.C./Ritz double necks. I'm not interested in the fact that it's a double neck, I just reeeeally like the graphic, and even the idea behind it. It's kind of like a cyber/computer chip theme that I really like. If anyone has any pictures of this guitar, I'd really appreciate it if you'd post them

It can be seen in this video from 0:45 to 1:10, (sorry, I don't know how to embed videos!) :
This video is from the original Speed Kills that was produced by metal method in 1991. The lesson has been revised into a 3 video program. It's now availabl...

Here's one picture I have of it:

The other guitar is a Dean "single" neck. Looks almost identical to an SL2H, even has the Jackson headstock! I remember reading about these a veeeery long time ago, and one thing that stuck out to me is how they were called the "Soloist Killer" . It's in this video sporadically:
This is from Michael Angelo Batio's Speed Lives guitar instruction program. This program has been updated and can be found here: http://metalmethod.com

Any pictures of info on either of these guitars would be greatly appreciated

You could probably ask MAB himself. I've heard that he can be pretty approachable.

I think he has an email address that he uses for his Metal Method DVD's.
If you can't get him directly, Doug Marks could probably get the questions to him.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day, set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Not sure about the guitars in question here but MAB was endorsed by Tradition guitars back in the day. Michael used to live in the city that I currently live in. I've met him MANY times. He was always a very cool & modest dude. I was with my nephew at a Guitar Center one day & he went out of his way & ran out to his car to give my nephew a guitar pick & autographed pic. He played a bit & listened to my nephew play & gave him some words of encouragement. Very nice guy. I have an older Tradition MAB sig guitar that I scored for like $80. It's got a pretty thin neck with trem & is comfy as hell. If you go to the MAB forum & ask him anything, he will usually respond. I don't get why people bag on him so much. Well.... I kinda do. Lol. But whatever. To each his own I guess. That dude sure can shred tho. Love his older stuff with the band Holland. Wore that tape out back in the day!!

Thanks for the info guys! Those Dean's are really nice, I might pick one up if the price is right. Hell just to hang on the wall!

Happy to hear that he's cool and modest, nothing grinds my gears more than when a musician is a prick.
