You can buy replacement trem posts you know I'm guessing the stripped part is the head where the allen wrench goes right and not the threads right?
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Yeah but the model I am speaking of had a maple board a black pick guard and green knobs and purple/magenta pick ups with those god awful pyramid inlays.. Don't get me wrong it sounded and played great but man was it fugly.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

If it's still there on Saturday, I might take a camera and see if they'll let me do that.

Ah. I had no idea about that. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm aware that parts are available. It's just the hex head on top that's stripped.

Wow. That's definitely gaudy looking. Not my thing at all.

I do like the vine inlays, though, and that's what the pawn shop one has.

If that JEM has an EDGE trem on it I would scoop it in a second. The lower end JEMS’s have the EDGE III which is bloody horrible. I think they have done away with the EDGE III altogether. The older JEMS that did not have the EDGE trem had some other cheesy bridge (EDGE II?) on it which is also horrible. If it doesn't have an EDGE or possibly a LO-PRO EDGE but I'm not positive on that. I would avoid it.

The higher end JEMS are serious shredders. I realize not everyone likes the look. but I highly doubt you will hate playing it. I personally love them.
-Now....shut up n play yer guitar

+1 I love mine as well They all have the Original Edge trem too. That has to be one of the best free floating bridges that's ever been invented. I am with you on the fact that you love playing them because mine play like butter and so do all of my RG's. I have the Edge pro model on a few of the RG's and it's a solid trem unit as well. I have to say though that all of my RG's are Japanese made and are of very good quality.

Yeah the "Tree of Life" inlay is very nice looking and anything is better than construction paper pyramids.

That's an easy fix. Take a right angled grinder with a metal cutting wheel and put two notches in the top of the post horizontally across the hex head. Then take a straight screw driver that's bigger than the width of the post and unscrew the post and replace it. Same as using an "Easy Out."

I would probably just ease it up slightly with vice grips to get me by, then order the OEM part.

Okay, I called and got someone to look at it for me. She was clueless about guitars but I walked her through some things on the trem. She said that it has the "Licensed by...." statement and otherwise just ways "Ibanez."

Does this tell any of you anything? Does Ibanez stamp their bridges as "Edge," "Lo Pro," or whatever, or do you just have to really know this subject?

The Desert Yellow, Lochness Green and Shocking Pink pyramid inlay models (777) are very collectable. Check the prices on a 777LNG.

The guitar in question is a 77BLK and will have a Pro Edge tremolo.
No honey, I have always had this Jackson....

When you looked at it did it look like a regular floyd or a floyd pro? The original Edge bridge will not say "Ibanez" on it. It'll just say "Licensed under Floyd Rose patents." Here's a pic of the "Original Edge"........ https://www.google.com/search?q=iban...ge%3B560%3B420

I LOVE my Jacksons...but my main player is an MIJ 89-RG570 with a gravity storm in the bridge and EVO in the neck. I love that guitar. I've had it since new and would not trade or sell it for anything. I also have a Prestige that has the low-pro EDGE and its just as solid as the EDGE I believe. I just prefer the feel of the original EDGE. Fantastic trems...
