You can buy replacement trem posts you know I'm guessing the stripped part is the head where the allen wrench goes right and not the threads right?

Originally posted by Big Al View PostConcerning the stripped tremolo post, there is a small set/locking screw inside the tremolo post. It takes a small allen wrench to back it off. They are there to keep the post from rotating during use. May or may not be the reason the post feels like it is stripped.Member - National Sarcasm Society

If that JEM has an EDGE trem on it I would scoop it in a second. The lower end JEMS’s have the EDGE III which is bloody horrible. I think they have done away with the EDGE III altogether. The older JEMS that did not have the EDGE trem had some other cheesy bridge (EDGE II?) on it which is also horrible. If it doesn't have an EDGE or possibly a LO-PRO EDGE but I'm not positive on that. I would avoid it.
The higher end JEMS are serious shredders. I realize not everyone likes the look. but I highly doubt you will hate playing it. I personally love them.-Now....shut up n play yer guitar

Okay, I called and got someone to look at it for me. She was clueless about guitars but I walked her through some things on the trem. She said that it has the "Licensed by...." statement and otherwise just ways "Ibanez."
Does this tell any of you anything? Does Ibanez stamp their bridges as "Edge," "Lo Pro," or whatever, or do you just have to really know this subject?Member - National Sarcasm Society

I am with you on the fact that you love playing them because mine play like butter and so do all of my RG's. I have the Edge pro model on a few of the RG's and it's a solid trem unit as well. I have to say though that all of my RG's are Japanese made and are of very good quality.-Now....shut up n play yer guitar
