Original owner may have kept it for another guitar. Or even sold it separately.

Dude! Its just fret buzz that can be fixed! If it has a real EDGE PRO on it, its not a fake. Period. The China ones have crappy trems on them that stand out a mile away....But hey, its your money.

+1 I have never seen a counterfeit Ibanez with a real Ibanez Trem either. When they're fake the trems are pure pot metal garbage that aren't even double locking. The strings go through the back end of the bridge like the option on the old Kahler 2700.

Late reply here, but it had been so long since I played it I couldn't remember. I gave it a full setup including fret polishing, intonation, and the works. It is indeed a nice guitar!

Better late than never bro and like I've been trying to tell Powertube if he can get a Jem that's real for $600 bucks he should do it A.S.A.P. I already said this but I'll say it again at that price he's stealing it!!! I have six RG's, four Jem's and two Satriani models. All of them are Japanese made guitars and they're all fantastic players. I'll put any one of them against any other brand and they'll hold their own when it comes to quality and playability.

But seriously, it's as fake as Cher's tits. I called and got the serial number, then Googled it, and that serial number is on hundreds of Chinese counterfeits. The girl I spoke to was nice, so I called her back and told her about it. I asked if they have Internet access there, she said yes, and I suggested that she Google "Ibanez JEM C02060876." This might be THE most notorious bogus serial number in use for these. She said that she would tell her management. I know they don't give a shit and will try to pass it off as a "great Deal," but I did what I could do.

I must say, though, that after ignoring that entire brand for years, this does sort of have me wanting a (real) JEM someday.

Ive been wanting to try a JS1000..these look to be a very good guitar..a Fender type neck w/a edge tremblo.best of both worlds.BUT,I just cant see getting anything but Jackson guitars..custom shop preferably...but anyway im glad you looked into it like you did..the really nice Ibianez guitars all have "made in Japan"on the back of he headstock.and.newer ones say TEAM CRAFT Japan..thats that.and if it dosent have one of these or both its not a quality made instrument..but I never owned one so I shouldn't even comment.I really would like to see what the JS1000's are like...take care....

If it had checked out as real for that price, I would be all over it. The sad thing is that someone else (like myself) who isn't versed in Ibanez will walk in there, and they'll know what the JEM is but not realize that it's a fake.

You could be right. We often take for granted what we know.....to me it would be obvious if the JEM was fake....but say... a Les Paul? I may not know its a fake. Apparently, there are some very good LP fakes. Having said that, I'll never buy a LP so I don't need to sweat it....LOL....

As soon as you see a "C" on the back of a Jem Headstock you instantly should know it's fake. All Ibanez Jem's after about 1998 serial number will start with an "F" for "FUJI GEN" the factory they're built in. The "C" stands for the "Cort" factory in China. If you ever buy a Japanese made Ibanez the serial will always start with "F." The whole thing sounded too good to be true anyway. I mean who sells a 3K guitar for $600 bucks? Answer???? Nobody! Sorry it was bogus bro but I am very happy you didn't get smoked on a shit guitar for $600 bucks. Better luck next time.
