  • NGD gibson V

well i won this Thanksgiving night & it finally arrived. its the first Gibson I've own since my first gibson a CS SG that was a complete POS. so far i like this one a LOT, big round neck not 50's big but much bigger than a 60's slim taper. cleaned up great it was faded and almost look pinkish, buffing compound and some swirl remover and it looks like a nicely checked relic almost all of the fade/hazing is gone. plays great, does take a good deal of adjusting my amp compared to my other guitars. its an odd color, looks red in the pics but its darker more maroon in person.

How do you win a Flying V?

I'd imagine an ebay auction or something similar. Is that a normal control layout? Like standard for a no pick guard model or something?

For mid-80's Gibson V, the layout is normal. But, one of the tone/volume knobs looks to have been changed for a miny toggle.

First time I've ever seen a Gibson V without a pick guard. Nice score though man, I am not a huge fan of Gibson but their flying V is one of the few models they still do right by in my opinion. HNGD! EDIT; I'd throw a couple of EMG's in that thing and let it scream!!!
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.
