    I have an '08 ec-1000.
I only mention the year because I heard they made changes at one point. IDK

Its not a shredder. But it is my all-around guitar. Its the guitar that isn't the best at anything, but ranks high enough at everything.
If i know what kind of show i am going to, take what's appropriate. But if its a party or open Mic or anything that could end up being more than one thing...

    Ec-1000

it doesn't hurt that its a generic looking piece either. Les Paul. Sunburst.
None of that pointy head stuff with pink neon sparkles or black skulls and Satan crap.

They look cool. I used to own a 300 series LTD, I think it was the EC300-P, the one with P-90 pickups, and it was a pretty damn good guitar. I think the 400 series is supposed to be better.

Yeah, the 400 is higher than 300, which is lower than my 1000.

I know this is a bit off subject but a friend of mine has the J.Hanneman LTD model and it's a really nice guitar. It's probably the nicest Korean guitar I've ever seen or played.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

If it's Korean made it's going to be a great guitar. indonesia or china on these are hit or miss. saying ltd is not an esp islike calling a charvel model series not a charvel. guitar snobbery.

Actually it'd be more like calling an Epiphone a Gibson, a Squire a Fender, etc. It's not snobbish, it's honesty.

                  +1 It's like calling an X-series a USA Select.

Back in the 80's and early 90's nobody who had a brain would touch a Korean made guitar. It's just been in the last decade or so that people think they are nice and that's because they are nice compared to the Chinese and Indonesian guitars.

Is that because the quality has gotten better or are Chinese and Indonesian ones really that bad?

I am going to have to say it's probably a combination of both.

They are coming from the same company. Only 2 companies between the 4 names. If squiers and epis sucks who made it so?
