I agree, lefty. I buy both new and used. Amazingly, I've found situations where I can buy gear brand new from a dealer for less than what some people want for the same thing in used condition. And some people wonder why they have trouble selling their gear?!

Tell me about it bro! I ran into a guy I hadn't seen in years who I found out happens to live down the street from me now. He used to teach guitar at the same Pgh. area shop that I used to work in selling guitars. I knew he had a few nice Jackson's back in the day when we worked together and he's a lefty too. I asked him if he still had his old Jackson Soloist and he said "yeah I got it why?" I asked if he still played it and he said he was into vintage strats and other brands like Gretsch. I said if you ever want to sell it let me know. He said he was really interested in selling it and we made a plan for me to go over to his place and visit and check out the guitar. Well when I got there he broke the guitar out. Keep in mind this is a plain Jane Ontario Soloist from 87 I think it was. It was white with a Kahler trem and one pick-up (bridge) and an ebony fret board with no inlays. It had the painted Jackson logo as well and I'd honestly say the guitar was in maybe fair shape at best. The Kahler trem string rollers had seized up on it and it had quite a few dings and dents and a serious case of buckle rash on the back. The guitar was a five and a half on a scale of 1-10 condition wise. So I looked at it and played it for about 15 minutes and I asked him if he had a price in mind and he said (Brace yourself bro) "Yeah I was thinking $1500 and I am pretty firm on that!" I just looked at him in shock. I said you must be kidding me? This guitar was probably $1500 at most in 1987 when you bought it brand new. I don't know what a Soloist cost brand new in 1987 but I told him to get bent after I showed him about 25 examples of what I could buy used from ebay in the Jackson guitar line for $1500.00 bucks. I mean the guitar was worth half what he was asking at best in the condition it was in and he just wouldn't budge so I walked. I started a thread here about it over the summer I believe and everyone here who commented on it said he was out of his mind. I just don't see how people can be so unreasonable when they're the one who is looking to sell something.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Um....I'm a day late to this thread because I just got in from vacation. I assume we're NOT talking about the Alvarez acoustic for $199.00, right?

No we're not. I don't know why the link is bringing that up but it was a B.C. Rich Bich that was on here the other day ago when the O.P. posted.

I guess it (was) a good deal IF you like those Biches, admire Jinxx and his playing so much that you'd play his sig model and can get along without a Floyd.

IMO, 3 strikes and you're out. Nevah hadda chance.

Never even heard of the guy .those guitars bring me back to when I was a teen and had one. Loved it then and havent put my hands on one since about 1986 or so.

I get it now. It looks like todays deal is a pretty nice Fender bass.

Dunno what BC that was, but I'm still loving the Marc Rizzo 7 string stealth I got for $670 shipped. That thing feels and plays like a CS Jackson.

I'm just really confused right now because Bombek is talking about a BC Rich, Lefty is talking about a bass, and all I see when I click the link is a mic bundle...

The link points to MF's Daily Stupid Deal, which changes every 24 hours. They put one product up at a discounted price. When the thread was created, the deal was a BC Rich Pro X Bich (http://bcrich.com/models/guitars-and...Pro-X-Bich/154)
