+1 Amen brother! So do I! I can't stand any of that crap music you just named.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

My single coil neck pick up has been getting a lot more work than the bridge humbucker that last few months. So has the clean channel on my amp. I walked around the music store with my kid's last night wanting to buy something heavy to listen to but nothing jumped out at me. I am hoping that Jake E. Lee's new CD coming out the end of the month inspires something.

I have an advantage to some degree working on so many guitars.
Seems every time I get the urge to buy a jazz box type guitar one comes in for repair.
I fix the electronics (which is a PITA) do a set up and play it.Then I realize these guitars just don't appeal to me other than the looks.
In turn I save money and the urge goes away.
Same goes with a std strat I love the looks and the way they play but get bored with them very quickly and flip them.
Same for any L.P I pick up at a good price it always gets flipped.
              Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Downing, Tipton, Gers, Murray.... All strat guys at one time or another. Metal as hell!

I love the strat headstock. Just a classic, shot of bourbon, can of beer, pack of marlboros and some good loud music. Just fits.

First guitar I bought for myself was an 87 American Standard. Still the one guitar that is "my guitar", even though I possess 2 dozen more. Never will part with that one.

For many folks, variety is the spice blah blah blah. But I am still trying to master a lot of the aspects of hair metal and shred guitar from the 80's and 90's-- and I'm almost 50. I must suck. Don't get me wrong I listen to a LOT of different shit but I gravitate to metal and shred styles when it comes to guitar. To that end, I still seek out 80's era type guitars and finishes. Must be musically retarded...

In fact, you can throw in Rap/Hip Hop along with Country Pop and Disco and you pretty much have the Trifecta of Audio Excrement right there

You don't suck bro. People just don't realize or have any clue how great some of the "Hair Metal" and "Shred" guys were as players. You're not a tard either you just like good guitars and great playing.
