  • Chinese Concorde?

I know I'm going to get a bunch of flack for this but I just ordered a "Jackson Concorde" from a company out of China.
I would love to be able to buy the real deal but I just don't have $10k-$12k at my disposal.
In all honesty, the guitar I ordered will be a project guitar. In other words, I'm expecting the worst.

Here's one of the pics they sent me of "my" guitar just before shipping.
Okay guys, let the flames begin!

i played an "ESP" james hetfield explorer in a pawn shop that was from the "rare electric guitars" website and it played exceptionally well. i would have bought it, but they were convinced it was real and would not budge on the price....
      GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

      and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

That's exactly where it's coming from ("rare electric guitars").
I hope this one is as nice as the "ESP" you played but I'm not expecting much.
I really don't like the fact that the headstock says "Jackson" so I'll probably refinish it and leave it blank or maybe just add the name "Concorde" in the same (or similar) font.

cool. i'll be curious to know how it plays and if the "ESP" was a fluke - because it was a REALLY good player.

Interesting, I did a Google search and this YouTube video came up. This guy is swapping out everything, but I usually do that too.

Hey man no big deal I order my Oakland A's baseball jerseys from China. I can't spend $200 on a "offical" jeresy. If you like the guitar then thats cool with me man.

Hey, if J/C/Fmic doesn't want us buying chinese products they wouldn't produce them there right?

It's a maple body (neck thru) with an ebony board.
From all the pics I've seen of the original, this replica looks to be fairly accurate.
If nothing else, it'll be a fun project guitar.

VERY interesting. I have read many posts on other forums about these types of guitars. Most need the electronics replaced or hardware replaced. Fit and finish have all come across as very good. Worst case you got a great base for a project! I wish you luck!

If fit and finish are decent, I'll be thrilled.
I usually replace electronics and hardware on most of my import guitars anyway.

Here are a couple more pics ...

Looks like they replicated the poor upper fret access perfectly!
