First off I will say that I am probably one of the biggest Dean bashers ever, but I am a fan of Dave Mustaine and I always said if I ever found one of his signature Deans at a decent price I'd MIGHT consider it. Low and behold a local guitar center had one of the Korean VMNTs for $299! When they usually have them marked at $799 or $599! So I decided to bite. So far its a pretty solid guitar. They also were blowing out his "Zero" model or aka a Explorer for the same price. More pics will come tonight or tomorrow as I only had a small window before I had to go to work.

It does sound pretty good. Some nice specs for the price I think. Mahogany body, Duncan active pups, bound fretboard, "ebony" board, and not sure if they put a Tone Pros on here or not but either way its a solid tune-o matic.

It seems to be light for ebony, which I know ebony these days isn't what it used to be. The Dean website says ebony, but the grain on the board seems to be too loose to be ebony. Seems to be dark rosewood.

Dam that's a great deal, even for a Dean. Im in the same boat, big fan of Mustaine's but not a fan of Dean. Id have jumped on that too, Im tempted to hit up my local GC to see if they have one at that price!

Im pretty sure it was only featured at this one GC that I am aware of. I checked the website and was still listed as $800.

Nice. Looks just like mine. The grain seems to be ebony, but I believe it's the more common striped ebony and not jet black. Most manufacturers dye their ebony boards anyway.
