i have managed to mount the humbucker into the body. I dont like the idea of using screws that go into the timber so i utilized a humbucker base plate mounted to the bottom. I had to grind down and smooth out about 10mm off each of the height screws. This way you can adjust the height as normal. unlike the dumb fu-tone mounting system where you need to actually remove the pickup to adjust the plate height itself.

You can see here how i hae removed the thread so it can slide easily.

If you watch this video you will see how they adjust the height of the pickup. With my system you just modsome cheap height screws and you can do it as normal. You could even do that to you fu tone setup. Fail

Nice. I really like the weed trimmer inlays. Would be cool if they glowed in the dark!

I wasn't going to bother recessing the control cavity plate.i find it really hard making a template that matches the cover.

                The failed attempts

Maple cover, Its a good fit but not perfect. I think i will invest i some cavity templates for the next one.

I LOVE the look of that concept your working on. The beveled scalloped edge flows really nicely rick bass meets modern metal feel for me.

Thanks man.I guess doing anything like this is a bit of a gamble in the looks department. I am happy with the shape it should also function really well and thats what matters most.

                        Wow, that's coming along nicely.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

                          Aiiiiiiiiiiiii

Hmmm not an easy task. I can think of another easier way to do this using two pieces of wood But i would need to go to my wood working guild to use their lathe and thicknesser.

This might come good with a bit of love but i am unsure. It took me a good 2 hours to get this thing as it is. I punched through the wall by mistake but if i do decide to go with it i will just paint the inner sleeve black or put map graphics on it.

I got all the ss frets installed. They are pretty much level already, So they wont need to much work.

They still need finishing, Instead of bevelling the edges i have rounded them off. I liked that on my promod neck soithought i would try it. It was a heap of work but i think it was worth it.

I am going to bevel the fretboard edge after i have applied the material. But before that i will install some hardware and test it out, That way i can get a good idea of the changes the materiel may have on the tone.
