  • 79 LPC in the house

Found this one and was on the fence but decided to grab it.
79 LPC natural original T top pick ups dated 1979.
Pick up covers were changed as well as the Nashville bridge.
Had a Schaller fine tuning tail piece but I replaced it for an old Gibby stop tail.
Has its share of honest player wear which makes it much better than a new one.
Been jonesing for one of the new reissues but having the real thing is way better.

Excellent choice Stray! I love 70's Les Paul's! Nice natural finish too! HNGD bro!
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

1981 or earlier LPC's seem to do it for me.

For me I like 60 to 79. Some of the 80's models were okay as well but I won't buy them unless they're 60's or 70's. They are the best Les Paul's in my opinion.

The low frets are a pain but still nice guitars.Just takes getting used to.

Nothing beats a Norlin era LP!

              Great score!

I agree with you bro but you know the purists won't touch the Norlin era. I'd love to know why. I consider the Norlin era LP's some of the best ever made.

Every time I see an LP in a natural finish I think to myself "wow that must be from the 70s"
                    It's pronounced soops

This one is not a pancake body or weight relieved with the 9 swiss cheese holes so its a custom the way they should be.
The 9 holes started in 84 just so you know if you come up on one and the guy claims its not weight relieved.
Pre 84 yes 84 and later no.

Great choice stray, and I love the natural finish. The frets are challenging at first, but I actually dig the change from the same old.

I'm getting used to the frets slowly LOL.
It sounds fantastic honestly. Not quite as nice as the 2005 Std I just sold.

Looks pretty tight. Do they shoot nitro on the natural ones? I struggle with the sticky necks on Gibbys.
