It's very easy to play and you can feel the extra length but it actually feels comfortable. I am struggling to find a tuning to stick with which is annoying. I rarely go lower than Eb but I might go standard for a short time and keep the low 7th on B. I'm using 10/56 Ernie Balls and that gauge works nicely but I have to try D'Addario 10/59 just to experiment.

The E-II overall feels as good and plays as good as any Standard Series ESP I've ever owned, it's right on par with them. The tone is huge but not overbearing and the Pearl binding around the neck and headstock looks fantastic. Action is very smooth and after a few moments you forget you're playing a baritone. The reverse headstock is a nice touch and if you like the Horizon line of guitars you'll love this one. I need to play it more but so far I'm thrilled to finally have it.

Cool. That pearl binding looks really sharp! I actually just got an LTD 8-string (an H-308) that's got the standard 25.5" scale (and a cool camo-type pearl binding around the body and neck. It's nice, and I've been wondering about something longer, but I've never used a longer scale before.
For my 7s I've been using the D'Addario 10-59 set (used to use the Ernie Ball 10-56 but feel the low B is a little too loose for me, but I just started with the GHS Boomers 10-60 set. And I now use that 10-60 set on my 8 with a 76 for the low F#.
Here's a quick pic of the H-308, also matte satin black.

Oh wow dude you really made a big jump and I was always surprised how well made the LTD lineup was. Did you keep the EMG's in it? I'm actually liking the EMG's in my E-II so swapping out pups for a passive set is my latest conundrum.

If you ever try a baritone you'll forget about the extra length pretty quick. It feels perfect for me and it has a nice advantage with string tension in the lower tunings. No doubt some players will disagree with that but once I start playing I have a hard time stopping. It's like ESP read my brain or something.

I love that LTD though. The 8 string players have always been impressive to me.

I'm guessing you like the ESP way better than the Dean by now. Those Japanese E2 ESP's should be really nice. Dean on the other hand, while making some nice guitars in S.Korea, does build some mediocre stuff in Indonesia(by Samick) and some real junk in China. Your Modifier ML is Indonesian right ?

The Dean Stealth I have is USA, my RR1 is USA, green Charvel yup it's USA, the custom ML Slimer I'm having built will be of course USA but that E-II is the destroyer of worlds. That 1 guitar out of a 1,000 that just seems to mesh perfectly with what is in your head. You know it the instant you pick it up, or when you crack open the case, it's the one. Right now my Charvel is my main simply because it holds tune like a Samurai Warrior holds his katana and it sounds amazing through my Splawn or Mesa.

The RR1 Lightning is my Marine Force Recon of the guitar universe. There are many like it but this one is mine! It's the guitar that convinced me to pull my OD's out of the line up and just run it straight to my amp.

The verdict is out on my Dean Stealth since my tech is installing ceramic duel Warpigs and giving it a proper setup. When I get it back we'll how well it flies through the radar.

For the satin ML there are hidden gems in the cheapo guitar community. I need a beater guitar and I never believed in the theory that you can't polish a turd. A good setup will have that thing holding solid tune and a decent set of pups, probably Duncans, will do nicely. It can easily turn out to be one of those fiddles that last with you through the years. The mystery guitar that keeps getting better no matter how much damage it takes. I'm a glass is half full kinda dude.

As for the ESP I have to be honest. I slept with it in my bed last night and I have no problems admitting that.

Didn't you buy that trans-natural limited edition Stealth ? Those are not made in the USA. They are very high quality but made by UnSung in S. Korea. I have one of the first limited editions from 2008, Black/Silver with the Original Floyd:

I've always wanted to ask...usually when I see 8 string players they use mostly scales and get a good rhythm going but they don't use a lot of chords. Is that what 8 bangers are pretty much geared towards? Or is that just the style a lot of musicians have picked up on?

Yeah the trans stealth is mine. Right now it's getting a pro setup and new pickups. I just love the way the stealth plays and feels so it's a keeper and going to get a lot of playtime.

I like the ones you have there. They are like the complete package guitars. They have the look and tone with the stability. So much fun to play.

Yeah, those Korean Stealths are really good guitars. They play great but you can't have girly hands, the necks are pretty wide. I'm surprised you're changing out the pickups in that trans-natural Stealth. Both the pickups it comes with are quite good.
