  • NGD: I got that Wicked Sensation...

It's the LTD version, which is apparently made of maple (which I'm cool with, I was originally bummed when I found out the ESP version is made of Alder), and the guy basically had it on his wall. Got a great deal, it's minty and feels great. Tonight it'll get a quick cleanup, new strings, setup and taken for a spin. Loving it so far though.

I have always loved that guitar. When I was getting lessons they had one of those on the wall and I wanted it bad. This was before ESP did the ltd sub brand too. It was a monster and before I could afford it....wait still can't
        It's pronounced soops

Cool, maple bodies get a more Lynchy tone anyways IMHO.

Exactly. That's why I wouldn't touch the basswood LTD's. Nothing against basswood, it's great in some guitars, but...it's not a Lynch model. Dude has never played a basswood guitar (at least, none of his well-known ones are basswood).

Oh dude, I met Lynch a few months back at a clinic and all these guys showed up with their ESP's. I played a Kami that was BEAUTIFUL, but those prices...it's painful man.

Always liked the maple ones the best but alder is fine too.
Every maple guitar I've had sounded great.
I had a early Kami II LTD that was maple, great guitar
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Cool. I remember those. They're dot matrix photo graphics on there, right?

Yes I remember back in the day seeing an original run and being disappointed that the graphic was such an obvious decal!

Don't know if they've improved them these days? Nothing wrong with an LTD either! A good gitbox is a good gitbox! Glen Drover's main Megadeth guitar was an LTD!

                      Congrats by the way SofP!

Yeah, it's a dot matrix decal, but it honestly looks fine unless you're really looking close. For a 5th of the price of the ESP original, I can deal.

I kinda want to snag a Dokkenbucker now to capture that original George tone. Or maybe a Mr. Scary pickup, those are actually sounding pretty good...

If you are talking about the Dokken Humbucker from Seymour Duncan Custom Shop just stop right there. Don't even think about the Mr. Scary pickup. Just get the Dokken Humbucker. I put one in a Dinky. Two totally different pickups. The Dokken Hum is all you need to think about.

Nice score. Those are decent guitars for the price.

That's what I thought. Not a big deal to me either, but I remember reading about that years ago and thinking it was a little odd. Definitely a nice score.
