    Bigsby - GONE. Totally agree.

P90's are so f-in awesome though.... I wish they weren't quite so noisy, but I'll take it cuz they sound SOOOOoooo good.

    Congrats! HNGD!!

I don't mind the Bigsby. After the discussion here I was checking out pics of BFGs and found one with another type of Bigsby that looked awful on it. It didn't have the full tailpiece. This one looks alright on the BFG. Would look better on a shiny jazzbox though.

Yeah, the Bigsby needs to go. If you want to hide the guitar just keep it in its case

The Bigsby B7 and the Vibramate V7 are off. I removed the coil tap, I took out the 1 meg pots and reinstalled the 500K for the Custom Custom and the 300K for the P90. I wired in 1 master tone with an orange drop cap. Pickup selector switch is now where it is supposed to be on a LP. Guitar sounds and plays amazing. My wiring job is so good I should play the guitar with the back side showing so people can see it through the clear control cavity covers.

On a side note... I did try the Zebra Burstbucker 3 in the guitar for the heck of it. Its what it came with stock. I don't like it. Its bright, very clear and has a medium gain. Its probably great for clean or slightly broken up blues but its not good for hard rock or metal. It doesn't have nearly the output of the custom custom. The Custom Custom sounds much better so that's what I put in it. BTW... the P90 is just awesome. Its noisy when the gain is up but you can only hear the hum when I am not playing so its easy controllable. The Gibson BFG Gary Moore Signature model is a very cool guitar with an ENORMOUS NECK. Real old school Gibson LP.

Thanks! Baked Maple fretboard. I never even heard of baked maple until I looked up the specs. It looks a little like rosewood to me.

Baked Maple was part of Gibson's answer to when the Govt spanked them for Rosewood. So now lets see some pix of it minus the Bigsby and even pix of the nice wiring job Enjoy it, I gig these days with 2 Jacksons and 1 Les Paul for the most part.

                Nice, Congrats

Do you have closer pics of the fretboard? I have 2 LPs with baked maple and that looks like rosewood to me too.

The second pic of your guitar looks like the board has pores like rosewood. Baked maple is smooth, no pores.

I will take some close up high res pics tonight and post them. Its a fantastic guitar. Its chambered so its REALLY loud acoustically.
It sounds much better now that its wired correctly. I found out what the deal was with the Burstbucker 3. It wasn't the pickup. It was the wiring. The original owner had it converted to Seymour Duncan wiring color code. I installed it using the Gibson color code. He told me the Burstbucker 3 was wired so that it couldn't be coil tapped. He had a local tech rewire it so that it could be tapped and he used the Seymour Duncan code. That's why the pickup sounded thin to me. I am still keeping the Custom Custom in the guitar. Its a great sounding pickup.

Yeah - I'm thinking you lucked out and got rosewood too. I have a BM board on a Faded Studio LP, and it looks like ebony except that it's brown. No pores.

Yeah, I think Gibson was sneaking in some rosewood boards here and there. I have seen a couple of the 50's-60's tribute guitars that were supposed to have BM that definitely have rosewood. I actually dig the baked maple though, wish it would have stuck around longer...

Baked maple does get darker the more you play it.I had a L.P Jr that had baked maple and I loved how it felt and played.Very smooth to the touch and no pores.
                            Slick as ebony IMO.
                            Sweet looking GM L.P.

Well, I have owned this guitar for 2 months now. Gigged with it a few times. Played it at home a lot. Its a fantastic sounding guitar. Very loud. Very acoustic. Extremely clear balanced tone. Sounds fantastic either clean or with medium to a ton of gain. Stays in tune perfect.
I don't like it because of 1 reason and 1 reason only...
The neck is entirely too thick. Too bad. For the player who likes a big chunky neck.. this is heaven. For me.. not so much. I am not very picky when it comes to neck profiles but this one is completely out of hand.
TRADE BAIT.... yep.. that's what it is.

bummer....I personally feel that chunky 50's necks are an important part of the LP + Marshall goodness

I've always been a fat neck guy, learned on a baseball bat strat necks, then fat V to C shape nylon string classical necks so I'm entirely comfortable on them.
