Carvin does indeed make great guitars. I've got a 6-string and 7-string already, used to have 12-string and another 6, all fantastic.

Shhhh, don't tell! I can actually strum all 8 strings at once without fretting... that'll make a real big chord, right?

When is it supposed to arrive?
I ordered end of April, was told it would take about 8 weeks... well, 6 weeks in, the owner's son found it in the paint department, after searching for a guitar with one pickup, but he couldn't find it for awhile... someone fucked up and routed it for both pickups and vol/tone and switch, so they had to build another which they're doing a rush on. They are pretty busy right now anyway, so most people's builds are being pushed back. Hopefully it goes out within the next week or so.

Wow very nice one Toe and those wait times are very reasonable. Love the wood/color choices.
I am so tempted to get a 7 or 8 string right now but im afraid once I do my 6 strings will get neglected . Everyone I know that tries one is totally sold on them.

Thanks. I do seem to neglect the 6s now. Time to start selling off some stuff. Some guy actually wants to buy my LTD 8 this week, so we'll see how that goes. The LTD is cool, but it's 25.5" scale, so I think the Carvin will work better on the low F# with its 27" scale.

Thanks, Rick. I can't wait to get this thing! It was a long 9 weeks to get my 7-string a few years ago, and now it's a little longer...

I know the feeling, it ain't easy being a guitar player but we make the magic happen so we carry the burden. I got an almost NGD coming as well. It's 27 frets, scalloped from 12th to 27th, side markers light up, and it has one of those crazy paint jobs that gives it a dark appearance then turns blue, it's also a prototype #1 of only 2 made.

                  I'll give you a hint.

Love my carvin its a beast. Shame they decided it would be a good idea to have a non locking nut with a floyd rose

Yours is mint btw. Loven that colour.

What don't you like about not having the locking nut? They do offer it as like a $30 option, I believe, but most people on their forum who have used them without the nut, don't really feel the need for it and think it stays in tune pretty well with just locking tuners and a headstock that's got straight string pull. I was thinking of ordering a DC125 with Floyd and not going with the nut. Of course, there are die-hards that can't use a Floyd without the locking nut.

Mine is a combination of the nut and shitty non ofr saddles which make for poor tuning stability and high action. I love the guitar but i dont really have the money to invest into it when i have so many projects and builds waiting.

I should just block the trem off. I bought a gold gotoh fr for it but the fucker didn't fit into the recessed fr original cavity.I could get the gotoh trem and locking nut to fit but i could never bring myself to touch it with the router.

Ah, that's a bummer. Beautiful guitar, though! What year?
