Vector that is just beautiful! I do have a question though. From my calculations this has been going on for about 3-1/2 months, and at the current rate looks like it may be complete in another 2 maybe? How is your buddy going to stretch this out another 18+ months minimum? Shipping?

Well, given that he doesn't work for J/C Custom Shop, I'd say he's not really bound by the same time, uh, constraints that they are. There will be one bit of frustration in that the guitar will be, for all intents and purposes, completely built but will need finishing, which requires a month of curing. Looking at a mid August delivery date.Comment

Man I love this build. Your guy does amazing work! This may be a dumb question but why doesn't anyone match the fret board angle at end with the neck pickup angle? Is it angled to the scale of notes or something?Comment

That's been asked before: the original designer (Jol Danzig of Hamer), who came up with the Californian, upon which mine is closely based, flatly stated it was essentially meant to be a single hum ax, ala EVH's Strats, and that the addition of the standard single coil was angled for aesthetic purposes. When changing over to a full sized HB, that angle had to be lessened or risk losing any redeeming sonic qualities imparted by the HB.
