Wow that quilt is amazing. I have been bouncing between a DC600 and a JB200 and this one might have sealed the decision. What pick ups did you go with?

Nice! I've always been impressed by Carvin's stash of fancy wood.

Thanks. They're the stock C22B in the bridge and C22J in the neck.

To me, they sound like a cross between Duncan JB's and stock Fender humbuckers. They have a nice bite but with great clarity.

Congrats Powertube on a beautiful Carvin! I have one and love it. I also liked the Carvin pickups in mine which are not super high output but sound really warm. I've also played some used Carvins that got traded in at GC near me in the past. Carvins seem to be consistently good, at least from the small sample I've had experience with.

                  Very nice.

Is the arm relief cut really shallow on that one? It's hard to tell in the pics. I've really been thinking about putting in an order but want the deeper arm relief like my Jacksons and ESP.

That's a nice one for sure, congrats. I have a DC400, and a AC175 that I picked up in local pawnshops this past year. If I see any more they will be mine.

Do you mean the upper part of the body where your forearm would rest while playing? If so, then yeah, it's about 1/3 of an inch thicker than my SL2H's. Still super comfortable, though.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe it's the less "extreme" hotness that gives it the nice definition. Either way, I'm actually loving the sound even though I was a bit skeptical based on things I've heard.

Even before this one arrived I was already on the prowl for used ones locally. So far I've only seen a bass, but it was also nice.

yeah, thats what I was talking about. I hadnt realized how accustomed to the deeper body relief on the back and arm relief on the front that jacksons and esps have. On the DC125 I bought, the more I play it the more I realize just how shallow those cuts are on it. Im having a hard time getting used to it.

So far it hasn't bothered me and I didn't even realize it was shallower until you mentioned it.

The upper fret access is incredible!
