In late 2010 Gibson released the #1 guitar in their Collectors Choice series which are replicas of actual Bursts.
They started with a replica of the famous Peter Green/Gary Moore 1959 Les Paul Standard called Greeny. There were I believe 100 of the VOS MF models and 100 of the aged replicas which they called the Gary Moore aged replicas.
Gary didn't sign the guitars as they were released before he could even sign he majority of the COA's. For example the replica Jeff Beck Oxbloods are signed and numbered by Jeff on the back of the headstock.
Gary was on that last 2010 tour when the guitars were first released and he gave his name to the aged replicas. The VOS models were so named after Melvyn Franks the Miami collector who first bought Greeny for $500K.
These are great guitars and post Gary's death you can't find any for sale or it is very rare for one to come up for sale.
These guitars had a Burstbucker 3 in the neck and a Burstbucker 2 in the bridge position.
The aged versions were done by Tom Murphy the famous Gibson painter and professional 'relicer'.
Here is Gary playing his #1 of the Aged series which can be seen on the Montreux 2010 concert DVD on the closing track Parisienne Walkways.

All of the wear of the original was recreated including the simulated headstock and tenon area repairs. The original was in a flight case that was in a car trunk and rear ended by a truck that snapped the neck at the body and the head stock.

Here are both versions side by side:

This Historic is my favorite for obvious reasons, I would hope the famous Stripe would one day be recreated as well #9-2227.
Enjoy
