So, what about Grover Jackson's GJ2 guitars?

I was searching this forum for this thread and found no trace of ever mentioning GJ2 guitars whatsoever. I also am not shure if this part of the forum is right for this discussion, but I hope the moderator will correct me.

To the point. What do you guys think about Grover Jackson establishing new guitar brand/shop GJ2? The 2014 model line-up looks somewhat like he is just starting from the beginning. The asymmetric V-shaped guitar once again is called The Concorde and it's description mentions Randy Rhoads. The headstock is changed just as much as it takes to not be a copy of Jackson Guitars' one. And so on. Maybe someone already owns one of his guitars and have an opinion to share?

I played a used one at my local GC. I thought it was pretty nice. I debated buying it, but when I went back it was gone. It was this model:

It was very comfortable and sounded great. At first I thought it was kind of ugly, but the shape grew on me.

Grover is making some killer guitars. Definately worth considering. I like the Glendoras. Every one I've pleayed has been fantastic

A local shop in Louisville has a couple/three GJ2s & they are too nice..
If anyone is interested give one of the DeGeorge Brothers a call for pricing on said great guitars..

I'm curious to see if he's still clinging to his original Jackson business model, and if it will pan out for him or will he once again try to bring in a management company that eventually results in his removal from the company, which will then be sold to foreign interests, bastardized into infinity, and then finally picked up by a much larger brand.

I've tried an Arete and Glendora. Both felt very nice and played well, but their overall sound was a little strange... almost a little nasally. I thought it had more to do with the pickups or pots they use than the wood itself... both resonated nicely.

...Old thread, but there's not that much about GJ2 guitars on the net...
I've just bought a white GJ2 concorde (Floyd) and a black concorde (hardtail), made in Corea both. These nice guitars didn't seem to sell very well. I had them for 750$ and 550$ new, with their case.
I wonder about the production of these corean models. Any idea how many they made? Are they still on production?

The Korean models are out of the same factory that builds PRS SE, LTD, Schecter, and a host of many others. Well built, especially for the money. There weren't a ton of them made, but they're out there. You can also find screamin' deals on the US GJ2s these days on the used market. Buy them up.
