  • Another DBZ Venom - Blood Red

Added to my DBZ Venom collection. They only made these for 3 years and discontinued them. I'm guessing the discontinuation had something to do with an agreement when Dean Zelinsky left the company. World Musical Instruments South Korea made which is very close to USA Jackson quality. It's basically a DBZ version of a Jackson Big Red King V.

    Set-neck, Original Floyd, EMG 81/85.

Funny thing on that one, I got it off eBay and it came directly from DBZ. They only made these from 2010-2012. This one was a brand new 2010 model, never sold. When Dean Zelinsky left the company in 2012, he let them use his initials(DBZ) for 2 more years and then DBZ had to remove all reference to him by the beginning of 2015. They could not sell this guitar as new with a warranty because it had the old DBZ headstock and logo. In fact, when I got it, they had black magic markered over the "By Dean B. Zelinsky" on the original case. I was able to remove the black marker with a rag and some WD-40.

Did you pick up another bargain for ~$300 !

I really like to echo the quality of WMI and by no exaggeration at all - their quality is really top notch. Had a few PRS SEs come through my hands, and the fit & finish as well as set up is better than what Gibson USA is putting out (I'm not just referring to Specials and Jr, but Classics as well as traditionals) . My Bernie PRS SE - plays and rivals $2,000 instruments.

Damn, pretty huge, close to Big Red!

Yeah, it's pretty much the exact same size, just skinnier in the horns.
