In an unrelated acquisition..I bought a fender triplebucker from an SD forum

Interesting about the Fender Triplebucker. Never knew they made those. I only remember Ibanez and Hamer making those.

yea.. i was debating on getting a tripplebucker for awhile off the ebay.. i had the money but was still on the fence.. a few days ago an SD forum member was selling quite a few pups and saw the tripplebucker for $30 shipped..id rather help out forum members than a random dude on ebay anyway, so i PM and PP'ed him a short time later.. should be here by thursday

im just curious on the sound of them.. the stagemaster is just a temp home to put it through its paces.. the permanent residence will most likely be a dean vendetta body i just snagged on ebay yesterday.. NO MORE PROJECTS damnitt or so a voice in my head tells me lol

guess i should mention the guitar was delivered today.. havent had time to mess with it much other than unpack it and check for obvious damage

ill try to restring her tonight.. give her a fast setup.. and while im at it.. check the pups to see if they are original or aftermarket

I looked them up a little while ago. Apparently, what's really new about it compared to the other triplebucker pickups made before, is that it fits into the route of a regular humbucker. Pretty neat.

yeah.. that caught my eye as well..looking forward to installing it.. 1st ill need to decipher the wiring leads.. should be np as i have a dmm, pen and paper.. lol

Always thought those were kind of neat with the neck-thru. Not a huge fan of the reverse headstock, but I see why they did it.

Sweet guitar. I like that layout of the tone/volume and reverse HS! Is that a low TRS Pro trem?

They're fairly decent... that's not the stock trem though, is it? I remember them coming with two different Fender trems that weren't all that great.... but it's been a while since I paid attention.

I'd probably rather have a Model 5 variant just because I could put an OFR on it.

yea.. its the original.. a cheap floyd licensed by copy.. the trem appears to stay in tune well enough but had minor issue returning to proper pitch.. ill put a dab of Vaseline on the knife edges when i change the strings. i also have a 580 lp lying around.. might just see how it sits and looks on her..or if it is even compatible..just as an experiment since the strings will be off..id prefer an OFR on this guitar or a 580lp as i actually like that trem..

truth be told.. if this guitar wasnt neck-thru, i would of passed her up with out hesitation BUT she looked rather good for being 13 years old, really dug the color and she IS a neck-thru..

might by a case for her this weekend. im thinking a fender tweed case with red lining.. always loved those cases

Every one I've played were decent... nice necks, decent but not great fretwork and they sound ok.
