Lepard, those are some nice guitars you have there, play em or just store em? Found this today, was an interesting read http://www.deanguitars.uk.com/articles/worlddean.html It's old , but was new to me. Also under my tress rod cover is the letter M , I also noticed in those tag books the initials CB on other guitars, do you have any idea who that builder is?

Yeah, that's on old interview. Some of the stuff in the interview is wrong. Not sure if Dean got it wrong or the writer. For example, that first attempted Dean guitar was a cherryburst V like Dean said but it wasn't stamped 77 00001, it was stamped 76 00001 and never completed because it was so screwed up. That guitar is on my website. I actually own the first fully completed and serialized Dean guitar, serial number 77 00001, a black ML, also on the website.

The "initials" are just finish colors. CB is cherryburst.

Sweet, thanks for clearing CB up for me. You're one lucky dude.. the FIRST ONE!, WOW!!! I've read your site 4 or 5 times now top to bottom... the 2nd BFH that DIME owned that is no longer in his collection , I think it appears on pg 44 in Guitar World "The Ultimate DIME Tribute Issue" Have you seen that issue? It was destroyed

" The Bullet holes were drilled by Dime and I, and Ric Duppstadt did the rest of the art work. It was used briefly on tour, usually during Primal Concrete Sledge; before being destroyed during the I'm Broken video shoot. Dime hit the cabinets with it and it just exploded, even though you don't see it in the video"

I have D'Addario 10 46 on that guitar, just loose , haven't tuned it up to standard yet. I'll put 9's on it next time because that's what it came with. I have some better pictures of the guitar if you'd like to document it on your site. I noticed when reading that tag page where they were being sent to music stores that one row had a name... Randy Bishop ( line drawn threw his name) then says Apple Tree, I'm assuming that's a music store. I was reading your Values on the Dean ML's, V's , E'lite , are you going to attempt to place a similar value system to the Baby Z's ? Have you thought about a new layout or format for your site and possibly a forum for the vintage Dean owners?

That site was just kind of thrown together. I have very little time to mess with it. I work 70 hours a week at my business so finding time to mess with another website is tough. There is so much more I could do with it, just don't have the time. I probably won't mess with values on the Baby's since most are pretty plain. There are very few like yours and most of those are artist guitars. If you keep looking through the Dean logs, you'll see guitars built for famous rock stars. It just sucks that they did such a crappy job of actually writing the serial numbers in the log books.

Thats a nice baby Z you have there.
I had an 81 blue burst V for a while and loved it. I wish I had taken more detailed pics of the markings on it.
It had DiMarzio super D's as well
