  • 2 Down, 48 to Go. Dean Stealth Limited

Picked me up another 2008 Dean Stealth Limited. They made only 50 of these, stock with an Original Floyd Rose and no Dime logos all over the headstock. I now have #21 and #48. This one has had an EMG conversion. EMG81 in the bridge and an EMG I don't recognize in the neck position. It has a blueish grayish EMG logo. Anyone know what EMG pickup this is ?

These are really great guitars with a unique feel. The fretboard is very wide and the neck profile is heavily V'd. Just an absolute beast of a metal guitar.

    Nice

EMG could be a 60, I think that one has a blue-ish grey logo. Can always just pop it out and look, should be on the back.
I DESPISE ROSEWOOD WITH A PASSION!!!

I think you're right, an EMG60. Nice bonus I just discovered, the tone pot is a push/pull EMG Afterburner.

Had a MIK ML Razorback Slimebee. After dropping an OFR in there, for a while, that thing was my go-to. Then I discovered that 24 frets and 25.5" scale worked MUCH better for me and that got sold off in a big hurry. Still kinda miss it. Badass little guitar!

The MIK was real comfy. Wonder how the Stealth compares?

I think the Razorbacks and the Stealth share the same neck and headstock. My Razorback V has the same feel.

nice score man, I've got a lead on another rare guitar and it's a limited run DIME model. Still new, tags and all.... gonna take a couple a weeks.

Edit: Which Razorback V do you have?

I bought Virus of Dope and Device's main touring white/black Razorback V from him.

You've got a really nice collection going lepard. Yours is 22 fret, I thought these were all 24

There is my Razorback V Explosion 24 fret , no chips or dings yet. I really enjoy this guitar, I have it tuned to B-standard with 10-46 D'Addario XL's which is what it came factory with.

Edit: I went to my case to show you I still have the tags as well and I just noticed something....

the tremolo tag says Floyd 1000 and the guitar came with the Floyd Special. But those are the tags I leave am in the case with the book and receipt. Purchased 3-20-13

The original versions were 22 fret and came with a Dimebucker in the bridge position. The later versions were 24 frets, a different scale length and had EMG's. I'd love to find one like yours. Those are hard to come by.

My 2 choices at the time I purchased were My Razorback V 255 Explosion EMG's that I have now and the DCR #5 number 5 of 200 Blacktooth. Damn that guitar is sexy, I'll have one , one day. same shop had both , he even offered to let me make payments on the DCR 5 and I turned it down

Edit: lepard, the different scale length was 25.5 sticker on the back of the head stock "RZR 255"

Yep, exactly. The originals like mine are 24 3/4" scale length.

Jackson8090s, do you still have your Razorback V 255 Explosion ? Like I said a few posts above, I've been looking for one of those for a good deal for a long time. I finally found one. This one has some interesting mods. They guy I got it from got it directly from Dean. He had sent another guitar back with problems that Dean couldn't repair so they gave him this one. He didn't want the EMG's so he had Dean change the pickups out to the same passive pickups that are in the USA Razorback V. He also put and Original Floyd Rose bar/collar setup on the licensed Floyd. That totally transformed the Dean licensed Floyd and turned it into a really great functioning unit, really surprised at how well it works. Fretboard looks like ebony but all the literature says it's rosewood ???

What is the 1st 4 digits of your serial number(year month) ? Mine is 1004. I've looked all over the internet and I cannot find another Korean Razorback V with a factory installed OFR(1000 or Special). I wonder if yours was one of the last ones made ???

This one is really nice, very well built and plays amazing. UnSung really got these right.

Why yes, yes I do! He-he... Yours is a 2010 year model made in April , so yeah , year then month with first 4 digits from 2007 forward Guitars by Dean , and yeah they got these right. You got some really nice mods there man. I kept my factory loaded EMG's I have those exact two pickups you got just incase, but I have other 255 models with them in it. Neck should be DMT USA, and of coarse you've a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge.

Mine is from the last year of production 2012 also an April build number 0364. They do look like Ebony fret boards and feel amazing.. but are rosewood. Does that have a V neck profile? All the research I have done (reading countless catalogs and documentation) they never specified neck profile until 2011-2012 year on the 255's . I love that guitar the balance is perfect .. weight is great, looks cool , feels like a machine! it's my go to.

I have a physical copy of the 2012 catalog and all of those came loaded with Floyd Rose Specials that year. The 2007 - 2011 Razorback V 255's all came factory loaded with Licensed Floyds.. but I gotta tell yeh they were not cheap Lic Floyds like other guitars came with they have sold steel construction ... quality pieces you ask me. I've never seen or heard of anyone breaking one either! They did about the Specials(which I think was abuse or bullshit internet forum talk) but never the Licensed. Also yours is special with that collar because all those I've ever seen are the old type spin-in like the 1984 Floyd which is what I bought and put in mine that Big Brass Block makes a big difference in the sustain and you can FEEL it and Hear it also it's like I have infinite pull up room. I have nothing bad to say about these guitars I'm a huge fan. Get em while you can I wouldn't pay more than $500 used ... some dealers still have mint pieces going for New price they are hard to find keep ur eye on Reverb. I know the Green Bevel forsale on there by the House Of Guitars... they've lost their fucking mind... it's got the wrong pickups , used, though in nice shape.. but.. way over priced if you ask me... you can get those 500-550 all day long from other online stores in damn near mint.. they maybe under the impression its a USA but it says Korea on the back of the headstock and they don't know what year the guitar is... but I do! it's a 2007 you can see the serial number in the images if ya blow em up. Nice score man... don't let it go, cause for awhile they disappeared then all the sudden flooded eBay and reverb... seems like they are drying up again and look more and more beat'n everytime they come back up.

Edit** I do have factory close up image with the Dimebucker in the Explosion... just looked cause I was like wait a minute... but the collar on that lic Floyd is definitely not a factory option but can be swapped out.

I'll have to take some pics of it with the 84 upgrade.
