So my understanding is they have a USA factory that makes the USA series. The Jap factory that was making the SS series makes the E-IIs. All custom orders and signature models shifted to the Kiso factory (K serial numbers). Some of the artist models that shifted jumped in price from around $2K to $4999 which is the street price on Kiso guitars. My KH-4 Custom Order I got for $4850 which stung because I had custom ordered the exact same guitar in the mid 90's for <$2K but Sweetwater had 3 years interest free payments so that helped ease the pain a bit.
