  • Just ordered this Jeff Hanneman LTD

I have owned exactly two ESP guitars in my life and both were KH-2 guitars I had gotten in on trades. I have always toyed with this model, not usually into artist models but I really like this one. I threw what I thought was a fairly low offer to them on reverb and they took it so I guess it wasn't that low lol! In general I am a Jackson guy and would get a soloist but I like the inlays and the fact that some money (maybe 2 dollars who knows) goes to the wounded warriors. I have only played the bolt on version of his this but I imagine this will be a good player.

That's pretty cool! I love the urban camo finish.

I assume the LTDs are of good quality most seem happy

Yeah I love the urban camo. I wouldn't have gotten a black one honestly. I'd just get a soloist. Never owned a Kahler.

I had a cheap lower end LTD Eclipse with P-90s many years ago, and it was pretty decent. I do own an Alex Wade (Whitechapel) LTD 7-string, and it's pretty top notch all around. I believe the signature models get more attention paid to them than regular LTD models, though.
I haven't owned a guitar with a Kahler, but I played a couple that a friend owned back in the '80s. I didn't really care for them much, always seemed a little loose and flimsy compared to the Floyds I was used to. I believe you can get some heavier springs and have it set up to feel closer to a Floyd, though.

Dunno how things are now, but LTD Sig series guitars were the only LTDs made in Japan, from what I remember. Excellent guitars.

I love the urban camo too. Really considered getting one of the urban Eclipses, but I never found the right one at the right price.

Even if it's Korean, that's not a downgrade at all because it would be one of World Guitar's better quality builds... and they build really nice... nice inlay work, nice fretboards, nice binding, etc...

Sweet I am pretty excited. It likely won't get played much. I am a Jeff fanboy.

I don't know if they still make any sig models in Japan. My AW-7 is from 2012 and it's a World Guitars Korean-build.

I have #22 of that guitar run sitting in the closet at home. Only non-jackson guitar I own. It's built in Korea but I haven't found anything to complain about on it.

Doesn't really matter, I don't think. World Guitars can easily build Jackson USA quality guitars... I'm sure this Hanneman LTD is no different.

My 7 string Stealth is just incredible for the price. You could have told me it cost $2k and I would have believed it if I didn't know that I only paid a touch over $600 for it. Real Floyd, real EMGs... the nice 7 string ones, not the cheap ones... the paint is flawless, the binding is nicer than USA Jackson and the ebony board is amazing as well as the inlay work.

Yep, the Korean stuff is pretty damn good these days.

Yeah I just got it in today. It is #94. It sat for a while so it needs a fret polish and new strings tomorrow. Plays awesome though, neck and setup was good out of the box ( will still need a small tweak) frets are great, binding finish etc... It plays better than at least one soloist I had. It is on par though with a good soloist, I am pretty impressed. At just under 8 bills it is solid for sure. Great inlay work etc...
