  • NGD.....Carvin DC127 Custom.

When you live 2 miles from the factory sometimes the magnetic pull becomes too much....so here is the result of my "stop by" the showroom 8 weeks ago. Specs look somethin' like this:

Maple neck thru / alder wings / ebony board / no markers / "V" headstock / fixed bridge string thru
    Diamond Pearl White
    (3) S60 single coils w/mini-switches and volume pot
    Black chrome hardware
    G & G Case

Some really personal choices here....ummmm.....the mini-switches. I know, I know! I'm in the minority, but I love 'em on my Soloists so had to have them here. I also moved the Vol pot waaaaay out of the way. Just more comfortable for me for a feature I rarely use. This is my first 3 SC guitar, so why not a Carvin . Hope you enjoy the pix....

Awesome! Looks great with the V headstock. How do you like the single coils?

I don't know if you're also a member of the Carvin Forum, but you should post this over there, too!

Thanks TJ! Going in to this I was fairly familiar with Carvin hums but knew nothing about their SC choices. So I picked the 60's over the AP11 (?) solely on playing a few guitars in the sound room. At first glance I like them....can get a nice dirty nasally strat bite pretty easily. But time will tell. They LOOK good though .
As far as the Carvin Forum....I think I was a member years ago when I had my DC400 fetish - will have to check.

That looks really nice but I wouldn't have a clue on how to use 3 single coils.

I will be damned Mark!!! Didn't you just order that badboy 2 months ago and we talked about if yours would be done before my build from Jackson and I placed the order early June. But anyways that is incredible. A lot of my favorite features for sure. Congratulations on your new guitar day!!! Glad to be of help in you getting the build done by adopting J1072, she is fitting in nicely by the way

Cool! The 3 switches I always liked on my old Model 6, thought it was a pretty cool look on the DC135. I guess Carvin got rid of most model names and just streamlined to the DC127 with different options.
I've always liked the looks of single coils, was just not much of a fan of their hum. I did have a Deluxe Players Strat awhile back with the noiseless vintage single coils that were pretty neat, just a little less output than I liked.

I have two really badass strats, I love me, but I am such not a single coil fan 90% of the time. Every once in a while though man they do me right. No coil tap sounds as good as a single when you want that single sound.

Anyway awesome guitar, when you say no markers did you mean on the fretboard or are there no side markers?

If I can't get a decent lead and rhythm tone on a single channel using a single hum, I do not bother. lol

I had a white DC 127 back in the day. It had absolutely incredible action. Happy ngd!

Is this a Gotoh or a Hipshot fixed bridge?
